    Description

    Beautiful Vintage Northwest Coast First Nations Haida Argillite Stone Carved Figure.  Signed on the bottom "Eagle by Glen Pollard 83".  Glen Pollard was born in 1957.  He is of the Haida Nation from Haida Gwaii (formerly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands).  Abalone inserts for the eyes and on the tail.  I purchased this for my own personal collection several years ago, but am currently downsizing.  This carving is used and in excellent condition.  At a glance it looks perfect, but on very close inspection I have noted approx. three tiny (think pin prick) sized nicks on the back of the tail and one more even smaller on the back edge of the wings.  A few more around the edge of the base.  There are not serious issues, I'm just being overly pick on condition.  For size reference, measures approx. 5-1/4" tall.  Please see photos for more details.
