Delmar Joseph was born in 1956 into the Squamish Nation in Capilano, British Columbia. Delmar began carving when he was only eleven years old. He apprenticed under the expert guidance of his father, Larry Joseph. Delmar is the brother of famed carver, Chief Floyd Joseph.
