    Description

Thanks for looking! This auction is for a carved ceremonial rattle made by well known First Nations artist Gene Brabant. I know very little about this item. It is made of three pieces of cedar, with the front and back tied together. At some point it has caught fire, as there is a burned spot on the chin that goes up to the lips. I don't know how or why, that's how I found it, I was not given any information on it. It is not dated but I think this artist has been working for a few decades now. The overall length from the end of the handle to the top of the head is about 13 inches and the overall width is about 5 inches. I do not know what the figure is called, sorry! If you have any questions, I will do my best!
