Description
Beautiful soapstone carving in pristine condition.Artist: Gene Thomas (Onondaga Iroquois) is the fourth son of Chief Jacob E. Thomas, Sr.
He was born on the Six Nations Reserve in southern Ontario on June 14, 1958 and is Onondaga (Wolf Clan).
Gene began carving when he was 14 years old under the tutelage of his father.
He started soapstone carving in 1980 and has been carving steadily ever since.
He is recognized as a premier carver in both wood and soapstone, with his work in collections around the world.
