is one of Sarah's earlier pieces - carved on all 4 sides, showing the
EAGLE and the Salmon
. Signed on the inside of the lid, handwritten signature, also saying "Kwakiutl Eagle and Salmon, steam bent box"
The painting is powerful and beautiful in red and black, so clean with very clean carving lines. It's signed underneath. Sarah fully hand crafted this box. It still shows the pencil marks from the process with the measurements on the inside of the box. I will leave them since they just gives the box even more character. The box was made to be used in ceremony and gifted after the ceremony. That receiver put it on the market now for the first time. It's pretty heavy.
The box is signed underneath the lid. It shows some very minor signs of gentle handling and aging, have a close look at the images.
