    Description

    Interesting find!!
Old/Weathered Portrait Mask - signed at the back by Brian Henry
Cedar, decorated with fur and horse hair. Very strong expression, strong painting in traditional colors. The age is unknown. I can't tell you more about it and leave it up to you to do your own research. It's authentic and beautiful. The signature is very difficult to see on the images but please have a close look. The mask is not dated and the origin is unknown (If I had to guess I would think Nootka, but it could also be Kwakiulth). It does show loss on paint, colors are faded, loss on horse hair on the right side and minor losses on the fur. There are a few cracks (non-threatening) on chin and forehead. Again, please have a close look at the images.
    Measurements: 12" x 8" x 4" (30.5 x 20 x 10 cm)
