    Description

For sale is a Northwest Coast carving of a bear in profile.
Bear is a prevalent figure in crest, myths & shamanic art. It is considered to be a close relation of humankind.  As such the bear is a link between the human and non-human animal realms.   Due to their strength and fierceness, bears are frequently the guardians, protectors and helping spirits of warriors.
This is a very well done relief stained cedar carved plaque with deep cuts.  This stained carving is indicative of Squamish tribe circa 1960s & 1970s and many NWC artists did not sign their work at that time.
The measurements are 15 X & inches and in very good condition.
I have been selling native art on ebay since 1999 so buy with confidence.
