    Description

Created through an unconventional sandblasting technique, this panel demonstrates the modern side of Northwest Coast Native art. The areas that have not been sandblasted reveal a bold formline 'Humpback' design by Jarrod Saunders, which stands in stark contrast to the grooved grain.
Each panel is made to order, measures 12" in diameter, and is signed by the artist. Please allow 3 weeks for delivery. This design is also available in a 24" format for 0.
Jarrod comes from a line of artists: he started carving under the guidance of his uncle, Skip Saunders, and his grandfather was artist Silyas Saunders. He began drawing and carving in 1997. His Indigenous name, Nusmata, translates to ‘Sacred Longhouse’. He has worked with Salish artists Doug Horne and Doug LaFortune on Vancouver Island. He enjoys using bright colours and atypical media. For example, he has carved several cedar surfboards and often paints his wall panels with unconventional colours such as teal and purple.
