    Beer Pitcher Repousse Hops Wheat William Durgin Sterling Silver 1886
    American sterling silver Repousse Beer Pitcher by William B. Durgin of Concord, New Hampshire for Rand and Crane of Boston, c.1886. This especially attractive and useful large pitcher has a wide upper band of hops and wheat Repousse decorations and a naturalistic branch handle. The interior is gilt, making it useful for any beverage. Weighing 674 grams or 21.7 ozs. Troy. this special pitcher is 8\" tall, 8 1/8\" handle to spout and 6\" in diameter at the widest part of the body. There is a presentation inscription under the base: Harriet E. Nichols From Mr & Mrs. James E. Gale June 2 ′ 1886. Inscribed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. [wb3647]
